About us

A team with pharmaceutical and technological vocation

Born in Barcelona with one clear goal: to restore the community pharmacist's role in patient follow-up.

Incubated at StartUB! - Universitat de Barcelona

We are a small team with experience in the pharmaceutical sector and health technology. We know first-hand the daily reality of community pharmacies and the challenges they face: polymedicated patients losing track of their treatment, a lack of adapted digital tools, and a disconnect between dispensing and subsequent follow-up.

FarmaClar was born in the StartUB! incubator at the Universitat de Barcelona with the mission of building the platform we wished we had: practical, clinical and designed alongside pharmacists. We are not a software company selling to the health sector; we are health professionals who decided to build the tool that was missing.

We believe the community pharmacy is the most accessible and frequent point of healthcare contact for most patients. Our goal is to give it the technology it needs to move from one-off dispensing to continuous accompaniment, without complications, without friction.

FarmaClar is designed for community pharmacies that want to offer active medication follow-up to their patients. It also includes an app for patients and caregivers that simplifies dose logging, reminders, and direct communication with the pharmacy.

After dispensing, the patient loses contact with the healthcare professional. FarmaClar closes that gap: it allows the pharmacy to monitor adherence, detect issues early, and communicate with patients and caregivers continuously.

No. FarmaClar works from the browser. The pharmacy accesses its management dashboard from any computer or tablet. Patients and caregivers use the mobile app available for iOS and Android.

Data is stored encrypted and complies with European data protection regulations (GDPR). Each patient controls who has access to their information. The pharmacy can only see data from patients who have granted access.

FarmaClar is in advanced development. We are preparing pilots with community pharmacies. If you are interested in participating as a pilot pharmacy, contact us through the form.

We are defining the pricing model together with the pharmacies taking part in the pilot and will announce it before launch. If you'd like to know the conditions for taking part, get in touch through the form.

Yes. FarmaClar includes a caregiver role that allows a family member to manage the patient's medication, receive dose notifications, and communicate with the pharmacy on their behalf.
